If you believe in the predictions of the groundhog, Georgians can expect an early spring.
The state’s most famous weather-prognosticating rodent, Gen. Beauregard Lee, emerged from his “Weathering Heights” lair at Gwinnett County’s Yellow River Game Ranch just after daybreak Monday to find no shadow.
“Beau predicts an early spring in the Sunny South,” the game ranch posted on Twitter.
Pennsylvanians weren’t so lucky, as Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow on Gobbler’s Knob northeast of Pittsburgh, meaning, according to a German legend, that winter will last another six weeks.
