Bulloch County commissioners voted Tuesday to approve a bid for paving one of several county dirt roads slated for improvement.
Ellis Wood Contracting submitted the winning bid to pave Horace Mitchell Road, which is one of the next dirt roads slated to be paved, said Bulloch County Manager Tom Couch.
The contracting company bid $144,792.50 for the project. Commissioner Roy Thompson made a motion to accept the bid, and Commissioner Walter Gibson seconded the motion, which was approved unanimously.
Commissioners also voted to approve a consent agenda, which included a bid from J&M Displays to provide fireworks for the upcoming Swing Into Spring season opener at Mill Creek Regional Park March 27, as well as the July Fourth celebration. The company submitted a bid of $21,870 for both events.
