Join bike riders from around the southeast on the quiet back roads of Bulloch County to benefit the Silver Lining Club, a non-profit respite program for people with dementia. The ride starts at 8:00 a.m. at Mill Creek Park and offers a 25, 50, 65 and continuous 100 mile option. All routes are mapped, marked and well-sagged. Pre-registered riders receive a T-shirt, ride packet and map. There will be emergency vehicle support and post-ride catered lunch. Pre-register on Active.com for $35. Same day registration on Saturday begins at 7:00 a.m. and includes a $5.00 late fee. T-shirts are guaranteed only to those signing up before March 23.
The ride was named after Jim Kruse, a founding member of Southern Cyclists, to honor his legacy of inspiring people to be active at any age. Jim began cycling at the age of 76 and used it as a weapon against aging and immobility. Today’s club members are made up of local citizens with a common interest in physical fitness, specifically through cycling.
